What we're about

Muscle Memory

Rooted in motor learning principles, every feature helps your brain and mouth work in harmony.

Visual Feedback

See the sound with real-time visual-acoustic biofeedback (powered by staRt) that helps make invisible progress visible.

Structured Practice

Fun, guided activities that scaffold each step so you stay engaged, supported, and never stuck in the “now what?” phase.

Crushing Goals

We’re here for mic-drop moments. First takes to mastery, this app helps you hit the right notes and celebrate the hits.

The Crew

Rock the R® Studio was created by Lindsey, a Texas-based speech-language pathologist who’s been deep in the /ɹ/ trenches for over a decade. After years of watching kids struggle and SLPs feel stuck, she built Rock the R® to make things better: more effective, more fun, and way more doable.

Now, with Rock the R® Studio, that same energy is going digital. This app helps users move from “kind of close” to “nailed it” with tools that actually work and a vibe that keeps you coming back.

But Lindsey didn’t do it alone.

The app was developed in collaboration with Helen Carey, a brilliant creative and technical partner who helped bring the vision to life. It’s also powered by staRt, a visual-acoustic biofeedback tool created by Dr. Tara McAllister, whose passion for making research-based tools accessible to more SLPs helped spark this project.

The proof is in the research

Motor learning leads to permanent changes in the ability to perform movements.
Maas et al., 2008
Digital games positively affect children’s motivation to continue speech therapy.
Prah & Šimunić, 2022
Kids using visual biofeedback in speech therapy improved /ɹ/ 2.4× faster.
